Please Help Save Ginger's Life
Ginger, a thirty-five pound, one and a half foot tall red heeler, was shot in the chest on June 7. The bullet entered her right shoulder area, traveled through her chest wall and exited through her midsection. After shattering her shoulder, the bullet damaged lung tissue as it tore through her body, resulting in life threatening pneumo and hemothorax (blood in the lungs, and air between the lungs and the chest wall, which can ultimately collapse her lungs).
An officer received a complaint about a homeless encampment in the area. When he arrived he ended up stepping onto Ginger's property, whose owners were not notified officers would be on their property. Ginger ran at the officer and he shot her, instead of simply pepper spraying her or wrestling her to the ground (this dog is roughly thirty-five pounds).
She is currently fighting for her life at Ponderosa Animal Clinic, receiving IV therapy, but her life is still in jeopardy as Ginger needs more advanced monitoring and surgical procedures that Ponderosa cannot provide, and to make matters worse, they are expensive.
We are trying to raise money for Ginger to receive the life saving medical care she needs in a very timely manner. Even small donations, when multiplied by many people contributing, can go a long way in saving this dogs life. Donations are done through PayPal's secure website. All money donated by you will be used in an effort to save this poor animal's life. Any amount donated in excess of what is needed will be used to help other animals in similar situations.
I would like to acknowledge all the people who have contributed thus far for this animal, including the police officers who have expressed concern for Ginger by donating.
Though Ginger is through her surgery stage we are still trying to raise money for her hospitalization costs. Please help her if you are able.
Ginger will need around $1950 for surgeries.
